Teena by Hina Butt marks her bridal ramp debut at PFDC L’Oréal Paris Bridal Week 2012 with her collection ‘Ode To Sophia’ – a romantic lyrical song for Queen Sophia, of the baroque era. Heavily influenced by Baroque; a style of architecture and decorative art that flourished throughout Europe from the late 16th to the early 18th century, characterized by extensive ornamentation, the collection takes inspiration from this era’s paintings, architecture and costumes. Hina has used a variety of fabrics for this collection ranging from pure silks to satin, chiffons and velvet trimmings, giving each creation a luxurious and opulent bridal look. Opting for rich fabric edgings, laces and nets to add a whimsical, romantic element to the designs, the color palette for this collection is vast and rich, consisting of hues of green, pastel pinks and nudes with burgundy and ruby red to pale pastels, beiges and whites. Ode to Sophia will also include menswear pieces.
Designer Hina Butt is the fashion force behind her label, designing clothes they best describe as feisty, fun and funky. A graduate from LUMS, Hina launched her brand from scratch out of a small workshop located inside her house: over the last year, she has managed to expand. Rapidly and currently stocks at multiple locations such as the PFDC boulevard, FP Lounge, Tehxeeb, Labels Lahore and L’atelier Islamabad to name a few. Teena by Hina Butt began as a fashion forward and reasonably priced prêt label, but over the last few months, the brand branched out into semi-formal and formal wear with the brand’s signature style of trendy and modern cuts with unique embellishment to create contemporary outfits. ‘Teena’ also provides a platform for fashion school graduates to experiment with new designs, besides giving them an opportunity to jump straight into the world of fashion retail. This October 2012, Teena by Hina Butt marks the brand’s ramp debut at PFDC L’Oréal Paris Bridal Week 2012 in Lahore.
