No More Workout Excuses In 2013

No More Workout Excuses In 2013, “I just don’t want to workout.”
We have all been there before. You think about putting on your workout gear and heading to the gym, but then you are suddenly overcome with excuse after excuse as to why you don’t feel like working out. The truth is, the more you tend to make excuses that justify not wanting to workout, the more you are not going to want to workout. Is your mind blown yet? Stay with us, because here comes another mind bomb.
Working out can actually be fun! There, we said it. Working out can be fun. You know that friend you have who always seems to be doing something active like going to the gym, or heading to yoga class? She thinks working out is fun, and that’s because it is! You just need to make the first step, which is to stop making excusesand start making positive changes. To get you started, we have our top three anti-workout excuses to avoid in 2013.

“Working Out Is Not Fun”

Stop right there. Didn’t we just tell you that working out can be fun! Sure, heading to the gym and mindlessly running on a treadmill while thinking about how you would rather be anywhere else doesn’t sound like fun, but there are plenty of alternatives to the gym. Take a ballet class. Sign up for a fun and energetic Zumba workout with a friend. Go hiking. Give paddle boarding a try. There are so many workout alternatives out there today; the trick to finding a fun workout is finding one that you enjoy!

“I’ll Start Working Out Tomorrow”

Wrong. This excuse might be the most infamous of all anti-workout excuses in the book. If you keep telling yourself that you will start something “tomorrow” the probability that tomorrow will turn into next year is very high. With the risk of sounding a bit cliche, live like there is no tomorrow. The second you begin to turn yourtomorrow language into today language, you will allow yourself the opportunity to make positive changes now so you can be fit tomorrow and forever after.

“But I’m Already Skinny…”

First, being thin and being fit are two completely different things. If you happen to be naturally thin, then by all means we salute you, but at the same time we encourage you to exercise. Regular exercise and a balanced diet are essential to maintaining a healthy lifestyle. If you begin exercising now, you will have a lower risk of developing health problems as you age. No matter what size or shape you are, exercise should become a part of your daily routine.
With 2013 just around the corner we encourage you to remove these excuses from your vocabulary and begin taking the steps toward a healthier and happier lifestyle in the new year!
